In 1921, Paul Amadeus Dienach, a Swiss-Austrian teacher with fragile health, falls into a one-year-long coma. During this time, his consciousness slides into the future and enters the body of another man in 3906 A.D.

When Dienach awakens from his coma, he finds himself back in 1922. Knowing that he doesn't have much time left, he writes a diary, recording whatever he could remember from his amazing experience: the mankind’s history in the forthcoming centuries, from the nightmare of overpopulation and World Wars up until the world-changing globalisation, the radical new administration system, the colony on Mars and the next human evolutionary stage. Without any close friends and relatives to entrust, he doesn't say a word to anyone out of fear of being branded a lunatic.�

Before he dies, he hands his diary to his favourite student, George Papachatzis, later prominent Professor of Law and Rector of Panteion University of Greece.�The diary circulates as hidden knowledge amongst high ranking masons in the lodges of Athens. In 1972, professor Papachatzis, despite an intense dispute, decides to publish Dienach’s diary in Greek.

Paul Dienach was not an author, poet, or professional writer. Rather, he was an ordinary man who kept a journal, never with the expectation that it would be published.

About the Author
Achilleas Sirigos was born in Athens on 24th May 1973. He undertook a Law degree at Athens University and fulfilled his childhood dream by becoming a sportscaster at SKAI TV at the age of 21. Since 1994 he has written more than 1.000 articles in the biggest Greek magazines and newspapers (including interviews with Paolo Coehlo, Michael Jordan, Luc Besson, Professor Nanopoulos and many others). In addition he has edited 2 books, hosted TV and radio shows and worked in more than 50 prime time TV shows as an executive producer, project manager or editor in chief, aired by the biggest TV stations in Greece (MEGA, ANT1, STAR, SKAI, ALPHA). He has also worked with all the leading Production Companies in Greece (ENA Productions, ANOSI, Studio Ata, On Productions, Plus) as project manager and creator of TV formats. After working for more than two years on the scripts of Paul Amadeus Dienach, he decided to publish worldwide the new edition of Dienach's original Diary Pages, which was formerly available only in Greece. This legendary book, which was originally given to him by his brother, is now the centerfold of his life and he is determined to share this world heritage with as many readers as possible.

Enlightening and eye-opening

This was a very enlightening read. Whether or not this is a true account of the future or a strange metaphysical event with other explanations, the book sets out in fascinating detail what will (or could) happen over the course of the next two millennia. Some of it is shocking but most of it offers hope for humanity at a time in which there is little. It seems impossible to fathom a world without wars, poverty, or people working like slaves - how could such an outcome ever happen? This diary sets out exactly how it CAN happen. While some of the apparent future events are nothing less than disastrous, I can only hope that the rest of it - the evolution of mankind to a new and peaceful way of being - becomes a reality.

This is a truly interesting read. Is a spiritual journey to the future. Irrelevant if is a true story or not. The dream is beautiful the colors are bright and the story unique. The message is positive the future is bright, beyond imagination. If true there is nothing to be afraid, just relax and enjoy.
Strongly recommend as an odd, intriguing mental experience.

About the Author

Silas Toms

Silas Toms is a geospatial programmer and analyst with a love of geography, history, food, and sports. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and can't decide which side of the Bay is more beautiful. He received a bachelor's degree in Geography from Humboldt State University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in GIS at San Francisco State University. With a background in GIS analysis for city governments and environmental consulting, Silas loves the combination of GIS and Python for analysis automation and data manipulation. Working for Arini Geographics, Silas is helping governments understand how GIS can organize and simplify the management of infrastructure and the environment. This dual role as a programmer and analyst allows him to use Python and GIS to quickly produce geospatial data and tools. Combined with web mapping, these tools are transforming how governments work to serve the public. He also teaches workshops on ArcPy and web mapping at the City College of San Francisco, while hoping to one day finish his master's thesis. Silas has worked as a reviewer on the book Python Geospatial Analysis, Packt Publishing and is working on the book Python Geospatial Development, Packt Publishing to be published in 2015.

I also like that he talks about the PYTHONPATH

Silas Toms book on Arcpy and ArcGIS scripting is a very comprehensive introduction to Python in the ArcGIS environment. The book starts out with the basics of Python (data types, iteration, concepts). I also like that he talks about the PYTHONPATH, the Python interpreter and what happens under the hood when a script is ran. This is an important concept that seems to be often overlooked in ArcGIS Python scripting books.
After covering the basics and important background information, the book dives right into some of the ArcPy functionality with some of the geoprocessing tools and onto more advanced concepts such as cursors. One thing that I like before getting too deep into ArcGIS scripting, the author introduces some best practices and pushes the use of functions for code reusability. The author discusses how create and pass in parameters into custom functions and makes good use of doc strings.
After introducing cursors, the book covers an important concept that seems to be lacking in other ArcGIS books which is working with geometry objects. This can allow for creating features programmatically with full control and the class methods allow for powerful spatial analysis. There is another section on advanced geometry methods later in the book.
Next, the book moves into creating script tools. This is a really nice section that introduces ArcGIS’s built-in framework for turning Python scripts into fully functional toolbox tools with the same familiar GUI. Parameter types are discussed as well as how to pass the parameters from the user input via the script tool interface into the script for execution. One thing I feel that was missing from this section was information on the Tool Validator Class. This is a key piece of making script tools and I feel this section would be stronger if this piece were included.
Another important ArcGIS scripting element included in this book is map automation using the arcpy.mapping module. Important time saving concepts are covered here such as fixing broken data links, updating map surround elements, layers, and exporting maps. One important piece that these chapters drive home is the use of objects and Object Oriented Programming. This feeds in nicely to the next chapter on advanced geometry methods and wraps up how to use objects very nicely in my opinion. Creating custom Python packages are also discussed here which is helpful when maintaining your own custom libraries.
Chapter 11 covers some basic operations in the Network Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions available in ArcGIS. This chapter shows how to check licenses in and out and some of the important concepts to understand before using the extensions (such as how to set up a Network Dataset). Practical examples are used to extract elevation information at bus stop locations.
The final chapter is a nice wrap up of all the content discussed in the book. The author also shows some miscellaneous tricks and tips that can make life easier in the ArcGIS scripting environment. At this point the author tells the reader that they are ready to explore more on their own. Overall, I think this book is an excellent place to start and even a good reference for seasoned Python programmers in an ArcGIS environment. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn Python scripting in ArcGIS!

Well written coverage of interesting analytical techniques

As the prior 3 reviewers note, this is a useful and interesting book. I applaud its emphasis on spatial analysis/data manipulation rather than clever map production (although there's some of that too). I especially like the extended project involving stops on a San Francisco bus route and the extraction of census data for buffers around such points. Obviously with a little thought the techniques discussed can easily be translated to develop a trading-area analysis, as retail-store site analysts do, or to develop more sophisticated econometric or appraisal analyses than are commonly seen. The progression of topics, from automating/generalizing/pythonizing an ESRI workflow to more advanced python tasks is also nicely done.

Good first reference and supplementary material for those new to python and scripting with arcpy.

If you are a new hire to the GIS industry as a specialist or analyst, convince your boss to get you this book now. Learning how to automate workflows in arcgis can be some serious timesaving. (Or buy it yourself and don't tell them, then drink coffee and browse reddit all day instead). The author undertook an ambitious goal; try to write a book to teach python and teach arcpy. It is a great basic recipe book with sample scripts on various topics that combined with the ArcGIS help pages can help one jump-start a scripted workflow. For new learners, I would recommend learning some python basics on a website like codecadamy then starting this book so that you have many of the basics down first, as the introduction to python in this book is brief and fast. For those already competent with python and have tackled several arcpy scripts on your own, this book is not for you, but may still serve as reference material. If you are looking to learn some of the more advanced topics in writing arcgis tools, such as the python toolbox, python add-in, tool progress bars etc; these are not covered as they typically require more advanced python experience than the level this book seeks to introduce to its readers.

PROS: Good starting material. Good examples.
CONS: Python introduction is very brief, and may confuse new learners.

Since early 2001, he has spent full timehelping cancer patients by counseling them by phone and e-mail and publishing abi-weekly newsletter with the latest developments in cancer therapy.Bill retired as an Air Force Colonel in 1977 after25 years service, including a combat tour in Vietnam. A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR ANYONE DEALING WITH CANCER!!!

I must say that Bill has really done his research and has written a book that is a definite wealth of information for the cancer patient and family. This information will not be shared by your run of the mill oncologist! Bill's book will direct you to some of the finest websites that offer alternatives to cure your cancer. Also you will be able to locate Dr's who are willing to work with you when you choose not to go with the cut, burn and poison treatments if you have cancer. The book tells you about lifestyle changes, being healthy eating, exercise and what supplements to take to help cure your cancer. If you are looking for this kind of information and feel lost out there in cyberspace, then you need this VERY helpful guide book of Bills! Thank you Bill for helping so many people! Lynn Miller P.S. Had I known then what I know now...

I wish I had known about this book much sooner. I began reading this after my dad was hospitalized on 4/10/07, I purchased the MGN-3, protocel and graviola mentioned in the book with the hopes of being able to administer it to him for the reccurence of cholangiocarcinoma, but he passed away in the hospital on 4/30/07. Even in my bereavement, I have pointed several people in the direction of this book because I know that's what my daddy would want me to do. My mom is a 13 year breast cancer survivor so she, my sister and I will still arm ourselves with the powerful information inside this book and share it with anyone who even mentions the word cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation are not the only options available! I only wish the medical doctors would have been more concerned with saving my father by trying the alternative therapies rather than being tied to helping the pharmaceutical companies make a profit with the help of the FDA. You will NOT be disappointed in this book.

This Program Cured My Brother! Contains True Principles

My brother came back from several months in South America and had severe abdominal pain and fatigue. The doctors ran every test in the book on him and they were all negative. They had no treatment. He could not function or take care of himself. My mother did Dr. Christopher's Incurables program on him, and after a couple of months he was pain-free and got his energy back. He was able to continue on with life as normal.

I have also used many principles in this book with great success and highly recommend it, especially if you have a diagnosis with few or toxic treatment recommendations from your doctor. It's an intensive program, so I sometimes amend it be as aggressive as the health issue I'm dealing with. This country is experiencing more and more cases of serious disease, and conventional medicine doesn't always have cures. They are great at crisis management, but then we need to be brave enough to take our health into our own hands, getting multiple opinions from different treatment modalities to make our own decisions. This book teaches good foundational principles of health, and is a valuable tool for learning about other options for healing.

About the Author
Lynne Pepall is Professor of Economics and Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. Professor Pepall received her undergraduate degree in mathematics and economics from Trinity College, University of Toronto, and her Ph.D. in economics from Cambridge University in England. She has written numerous papers in industrial organization, appearing in the Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Economic Journal, Canadian Journal of Economics, Economica, and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. She has taught industrial organization and microeconomics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, at Tufts University since 1987. Professor Pepall lives in Newton, Massachusetts, with her two sons, a dog, three rabbits, and her husband, a co-author of this book.

Dan Richards is Professor of Economics at Tufts University. Professor Richards received his A.B. in economics and history from Oberlin College and his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University. Professor Richards has written numerous articles in both macroeconomics and industrial organization, appearing in the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, Economica, the B. E. Journals in Economic Analysis and Policy, Canadian Journal of Economics, the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. He came to Tufts in 1985 and has taught at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He served as Director of the Graduate Program in Economics from 1989 through 1998, and has also served as a consultant to the Federal Trade Commission. From 1996 to 2005 he taught in the Sloan Fellows Program at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Professor Richards lives in Newton, Massachusetts, with his two sons, a dog, three rabbits, and his wife, a co-author of this book.

George Norman holds the William and Joyce Cummings Family Chair of Entrepreneurship and Business Economics at Tufts University. He came to Tufts in 1995 from Edinburgh University, where he had served as head of the department of economics. Prior to that, Professor Norman was the Tyler Professor of Economics at the University of Leicester (England). Professor Norman attended the University of Dundee (Scotland) where he was awarded the M.A. in economics with first class honors. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Cambridge University. His more than 70 published articles have appeared in such professional journals as the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, and International Journal of Industrial Organization. He is currently an Associate Editor for two journals, the Bulletin of Economic Research and Regional Science and Urban Economics. He is also on the editorial board of the B.E. Journals in Economic Analysis and Policy. In addition to this book, Professor Norman has written and edited, either alone or in collaboration with others, 17 other books. Professor Norman has taught courses in industrial organization and microeconomic theory at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has also taught introductory economics, corporate strategy, international economics, and entrepreneurship. Professor Norman lives in Newbury, Massachusetts, with his wife Margaret who, while not a co-author, has provided invaluable support and assistance in his work on this book.

From its first edition, the authors have succeeded in introducing students to the vastly interesting and complicated world of industrial organization. By supplementing the theory with ample relevant empirical examples, the text is a pleasure to read and serves well for self study too. In its scope and exposition it competes with Carlton, while the updated 4th edition provides a good reason to pick it.

Iacuzzo, a well-known psychic with a high-profile (albeit secret) client list, writes engagingly about growing up psychic in a family where almost everyone was seeing ghosts or tuning in to what was coming next. Raised in Buffalo in a Sicilian family as dramatic as it was psychic, Terry idolized her older brother, Frank, who became a prominent psychic in New York while Terry was still dropping acid and trying to find the maternal love that had eluded her. The brother-sister relationship eventually turned sour, however, and Terry spends much of her memoir alternately describing the admiration she felt for her brother and listing her grievances against him. Terry's own psychic abilities open the story and end it, but the book's focus is on the author's personal journey (filled with drugs, sexual experimentation, and a host of psychics and spiritualists, many of whom seem more malevolent than mystical). Although most readers will be attracted by the word psychic in the title, it's the family dynamics that drive the story. This gang would be plenty interesting without the extrasensory veneer. a vulnerable expose

It takes true courage to expose your personal psychological vulnerabilites to the world. Iacuzzo does that, possibily in an attempt to debunk any 'better-thans' around being psychic. People are people no matter what 'talents', innate or otherwise, they come into the world with and Iacuzzo seems to go out of her way to show us some of the personal hazzards that go with her particular growth path. The lack of self esteem; inability to create boundaries; constant need for approval and love, are just a few of the 'drivers' that propel her through her early adulthood. Now throw in the drug culture of the sixties and some wildly dysfunctional family members and her story begins to take on mythic proportion for all of us who survived those wild and crazy times. Throughout it all emerges a woman who is trying to keep her heart open and her mind discerning. Someone who is trying to understand her 'talent' w h i l e building a healthy 'self'. No small task when you can see behind the curtain.

layered kicks , a carnival of sincerity- an ESP Candy store

I knew I was going to dig this book; call it "intuition"! As a fan of anything leading edge- and trust me the world hasn't even scratched the surface of multi dimensional reality- I was hoping this book would give glimpses of things that I haven't yet been able to view first hand. I was not dissapointed ; I loved feeling just like I was right beside the author as she gives the reader a tour of her experiences. The psychic eccentric early family dynamics that gave birth to the current life are hysterical and poignant.I enjoyed seeing firsthand what certain pockets of experience were like in the sixties and seventies in NY city, downtown and on the Upper west side,in psychic dens, tarot readers lairs and spiritualists meetings. Most people will be left with with their mouths agape over some of the events that take place in the spiritualist community- objects that materialize out of thin air and are delivered via a horn!

The author is very sincere and open, revealing personal heartaches and doubts, the pain of being so receptive and wildly spiritually adventurous- LSD trips notwithstanding. Imagine having no filters to the despair that surrounds you at times- i.e. catching the eye of a man on the subway and seeing a mental picture of a murdered woman in a hotel room- knowing that he was the killer ,reading the headlines the next day confirming the story ...

We also get a whole lot of the authors organic journey and the maturation of herself into a bona fide psychic reader separate from the family shadow , cast from the Jupiterian Wizard that is her famous older brother... Really nothing is held back or hedged, it's rare to find this kind of honesty in a life tale; revealed in nuanced details. I just couldn't put the book down once I began, and that's always the highest praise.

Interesting and painfully honest !

I am 3/4 done with this book, and I haven't finished it yet, but I wanted to write this review. It's about Terry's childhood, and then her life on her own, out in the big world. She goes to New York, gets jobs, gets roommates........and it continues about her discovering herself and her world and her relationship to her family members. It gets a little bogged down at times because it seems like she's having a hard time growing up and being on her own, and you just want her to get on with it.

There are some things in this book that caught me off guard a little. It got a little kinky and weird at times, but it is about her life and experiences, so you have to go with it to continue with the story. Like I said, I haven't finished it yet, but I am anxious to get back to it. She is a good story teller and is brutally honest. That's all I ask for in a good book. She has the guts to tell her story, because she doesn't always look good in the situations she finds herself in. She doesn't always make the right decisions!

So, At 3/4 done reading this book, I give it 5 stars because it has held my interest.
