MIRCEA EREMIA, PhD, is Full Professor in the Electrical Power Systems Department at the University Politehnica of Bucharest. He has authored or coauthored more than 150 journal and conference papers as well as ten books in the field of electric power systems. Professor Eremia has extensive experience in power system analysis and engineering education.

MOHAMMAD SHAHIDEHPOUR, PhD, is Bodine Chair Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and Director of the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He is Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and an editorial board member of IEEE Power and Energy Magazine.

While the material presented is impressive and exhaustive, the language is quite substandard and has a large number of typos, not to mention some puzzling selection of words. Lots of editing needs to be done to come up with a new edition.

Great for Generator operator to Transmission operator reading

Hard to find material on power operations. I reviewed the contents and some chapters and found it covered topics relevant to my job as an power generation and substation/transmission operator. When I received the book, which only took a few days to get here, it exceeded my expectations. Most often I've found in other books written at too basic a level, other books too abstract in the electrical engineering maths. This book sort of covers all layers and is extremely well written.
